For more than 30 years, HENDERSON fashion house has been offering elegant and stylish clothing for men, designed for all of life's situations within the premium affordable luxury segment.
In the autumn of 2024, the long-awaited Armenian premiere of the biographical film Mssyo Aznavour took place in Yerevan, attended by numerous stars, including the film's lead actor, Tahar Rahim. The red carpet ceremony was also graced by Charles Aznavour's son, Nikola Aznavour, who wore exclusive pieces from the Inspired By Aznavour accessory collection by HENDERSON. This collection was created specifically for the centennial of Aznavour's birth and is intended only for the Aznavour Foundation and the brand's close partners. Before achieving global success and establishing close ties with the Aznavour charitable foundation, HENDERSON has undergone more than three decades of interesting and unique history.
Henderson was born during the early post-Soviet years, a time filled with challenges but also opportunities. It was 1993, and Armenia was still under blockade, while Russia was forming its new market economy. Ruben Harutyunyan started with small steps, initially importing everyday clothing and toys. Soon after, the first shirts under the Henderson label were introduced.
Just a decade later, the Henderson showroom network was honored with the national "Brand of the Year / EFFIE 2006" award in the "Clothing, Footwear, Accessories" category. By 2006, the company employed more than 350 people, with stores operating in nine cities across Russia.
As a result, Henderson was included in the list of Russia's top brands, winning an award for successfully creating a Russian brand, contributing to the industry's development, and benefiting society. By the following year, Henderson's network had expanded to 46 showrooms in 17 major cities. The company continued to grow and achieve success.
In 2017, the HENDERSON fashion house introduced its exclusive bespoke tailoring service, Su Misura. Customers could now be assured that, regardless of their body shape, HENDERSON would create the perfect shirt, suit, jacket, or coat within 28 days. Additionally, customers were allowed to choose from over 10,000 fabrics sourced from Italy and the United Kingdom's finest factories, allowing them to create their unique combination.
This revolutionary initiative was followed in 2019 by the launch of HENDERSON Su Misura Donna, a women’s bespoke tailoring service offering shirts with 13 collar types, 25 cuff options, and a selection of over 1,000 premium fabrics. Furthermore, in collaboration with the Nairian laboratory in Armenia, HENDERSON recently created a line of natural, eco-friendly grooming products for men.
HENDERSON has always emphasized its role in social responsibility. In 2020, the brand launched the "Polo for Doctors" campaign in collaboration with the "Volunteer Doctors" movement, providing support to healthcare workers. Through its partnership with the "Second Breath" foundation, clothing donation campaigns were organized, aimed at clothing recycling and charity work.
In 2010, the brand became the official partner of the Russian Hockey Federation, with athletes from the national team wearing HENDERSON apparel. The brand also collaborated with one of Russia's most popular football clubs, Moscow's Spartak, creating an exclusive collection for the team's players.
HENDERSON values the perception of art and aesthetics in its collections. In 2019, the brand's advertising campaigns were filmed in key museums of Russia, including the Moscow Multimedia Art Museum, the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts, and the Russian Museum. Furthermore, HENDERSON organizes free excursions to the locations where its collections were filmed.
Overall, the HENDERSON brand has long been associated with cultural events. It has been the official partner of violinist Karen Shahgaldyan and the "Aram Khachaturian" trio’s tours, legendary actor Alain Delon’s Moscow visit, and the Armenia Music Awards ceremony. The brand has also collaborated with the "Moscow Virtuosi" State Orchestra, led by maestro Vladimir Spivakov, renowned actor Konstantin Khabensky, humorist Garik Martirosyan, and maestro Michel Legrand's Moscow concert. This list of collaborations can continue for quite some time.
Against this backdrop, the brand's connection to Charles Aznavour's legacy stands out. The influence of their memorable meeting is still evident today, even several years after the chanson singer's passing. In 2024, the HENDERSON fashion house announced its collaboration with the "Charles Aznavour" Charitable Foundation as part of the centennial celebrations of Aznavour's birth.
2022 was a significant year for HENDERSON. The fashion house entered the international market by opening two showrooms in Yerevan. The brand is also present in Dalma Garden Mall. HENDERSON continues to grow, equipping itself with trends offered by innovative technologies and expanding its digital platforms. Specifically, the brand launched the HENDERSON mobile app to provide customers with more convenient services.
